Worship
Worship is at the heart of our lives, and scripture is at the heart of our worship. All that the church is and does is rooted in worship. In worship, through word, sacrament, and music, the church is sustained by the power of the Holy Spirit. Our liturgy is firmly rooted in the faith and traditions of the reformed church.
You’ll hear old music and new, pipe organ, piano, handbells and chimes. We order our worship life around the Christian Year. Our preachers usually (though not always) use the Revised Common Lectionary.
If we celebrate the Eucharist (communion) the day your join us, you are welcome to receive. When the leader asks for prayer requests, you are welcome to add one verbally, or use the cards at the rear of the sanctuary. If you have children (elementary age and younger), you are welcome to send them to Sunday School or to keep them in the sanctuary with you.
Children’s Ministry
Sunday School takes place during the worship service, and usually covers the same scripture texts. Children stay in worship through a brief time with the pastor and then are invited to move to the education unit where there are age-appropriate activities.
Most of our Sunday School teachers have advanced degrees in education. They know how to support your differently-abled children, but please be sure and tell us what accommodations may be needed so that we can make sure your child has a great learning experience.
Of course, your children are welcome to stay in worship with you.
