Music Ministry

Music at First Presbyterian Church is as diverse as our community of faith.

Our choir rehearses on Sunday mornings at 9:45am (September through May). We are a small, but mighty, group that prepares and presents music weekly during the academic year. You will hear us singing old choral classics, and contemporary pieces, as well as some modern works thrown in to make it interesting. We present a cantata or other major work at Christmas and Easter. You don’t have to read music and no audition is required. The only requirement is that you desire to have fun making music for the glory of God.

Our English Handbell Choir practices Sunday mornings at 9:15am (September through May). We prepare music for worship on at least a monthly basis, sometimes more often. We usually join with the choir for special music at Christmas and Easter. We have a 3-octave and a 5-octave set of English Handbells, 3-octaves of Choir Chimes, and various other percussion instruments. You don’t have to read music and no audition is required. Just come have fun making music to the glory of God.

Worship is accompanied by a wonderful 11-rank pipe organ and a beautiful grand piano. Guest musicians often add guitar, oboe, flute, or other instruments.
